Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EYP001a + peginterferon alfa-2a + entecavir is an investigational oral combination therapy for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and potentially other liver diseases. EYP001a is a small molecule farnesoid X receptor (FXR) agonist that modulates bile, lipid, and glucose metabolism and is being developed for antiviral and hepatoprotective activity[7][1][5]. Peginterferon alfa-2a is a recombinant interferon that stimulates the innate antiviral response via the JAK/STAT pathway and is approved for hepatitis B and C treatment[2][4][6]. Entecavir is a nucleoside analogue antiviral agent inhibiting hepatitis B virus polymerase. The combination aims for functional cure by targeting multiple viral and host pathways.
