Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HDDO-17561/HDDO-17562 refers to the loose combination of ezetimibe and fenofibrate, developed by Hyundai Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hyperlipidemia. Ezetimibe is a selective cholesterol absorption inhibitor that acts at the brush border of the small intestine, while fenofibrate is a fibric acid derivative that activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) to modulate lipid metabolism. This combination is typically used to lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol. Hyundai Pharmaceutical conducted Phase 1 trials to compare the pharmacokinetics and safety of this loose combination against their fixed-dose combination (FDC) formulation, HDDO-1756.
