ezetimibe + rosuvastatin (Dongkook Pharmaceutical)

DKF-460 (marketed as Rosutanjed OD) is an orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) formulation of the fixed-dose combination of ezetimibe and rosuvastatin, developed by Dongkook Pharmaceutical for the treatment of dyslipidemia and primary hypercholesterolemia. Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis, while ezetimibe is a selective cholesterol absorption inhibitor that blocks the absorption of dietary and biliary cholesterol in the small intestine by targeting Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1 (NPC1L1). By combining these two complementary mechanisms, DKF-460 effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and other lipid parameters. The orally disintegrating tablet formulation is designed to dissolve rapidly in the mouth without water, improving dosing convenience and compliance, particularly for elderly patients or those with dysphagia.
