F2F22D + DL001Z is an investigational mRNA-based influenza vaccine candidate developed by GSK in collaboration with CureVac. It is a specific formulation within the GSK4382276A multivalent vaccine program, which utilizes CureVac's second-generation mRNA backbone technology. The candidate consists of a specific mRNA construct (F2F22D) encapsulated in a lipid nanoparticle delivery system (DL001Z). It is designed to induce an immune response against hemagglutinin (HA) antigens from multiple influenza strains to provide protection against seasonal or pandemic influenza. F2F22D + DL001Z was evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials (e.g., NCT05823974) to assess its safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity in healthy younger and older adults. In July 2024, GSK assumed full control of the development and commercialization of the program, which has since reported positive Phase 2 data and is progressing toward Phase 3 trials.
