F2F23C + DL001Z-NH is an experimental bivalent mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by GSK in collaboration with CureVac for the prevention of seasonal influenza. The vaccine consists of two distinct nucleoside-modified messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). F2F23C encodes the hemagglutinin (HA) protein of an influenza A/H1N1 strain, while DL001Z-NH encodes the HA protein of an influenza A/H3N2 strain. This combination utilizes CureVac's second-generation mRNA backbone, which is optimized for increased protein expression and enhanced immunogenicity. It serves as the Influenza A component of GSK's broader multivalent seasonal influenza vaccine program, such as the quadrivalent candidate GSK4382276A. The vaccine is designed to be administered intramuscularly to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against circulating influenza A viruses.
