Overview

Fab'BCMA-MORF1 is a biologic component of the Multi-Antigen T Cell Hybridizers (MATCH) immunotherapy system, currently under development for the treatment of multiple myeloma. It is a modular T-cell engager component consisting of a Fab' antibody fragment that targets B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells, conjugated to a 25-base morpholino oligonucleotide (MORF1). The MATCH system operates as a two-step, self-assembling bispecific platform: Fab'BCMA-MORF1 first binds to the tumor cells, and subsequently hybridizes with a complementary component (Fab'CD3-MORF2) that targets T-cells. This hybridization creates a functional bridge between the T-cell and the cancer cell, inducing targeted cytotoxicity. This technology, developed by researchers at the University of Utah and the University of Texas at Austin, aims to provide a highly customizable and potentially safer alternative to traditional bispecific antibodies.
