famciclovir + celecoxib

IMC-1 is a proprietary, fixed-dose combination drug consisting of famciclovir, an antiviral nucleoside analog that inhibits viral DNA replication, and celecoxib, a COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory and unique antiviral properties. The drug is designed to synergistically suppress herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) activation and replication by keeping the virus in a latent state or down-regulating it from an active state back to latency. This mechanism aims to reduce symptoms of fibromyalgia by interrupting the cyclical processes of HSV-1 reactivation and lytic infection, which may play a role in triggering or maintaining fibromyalgia symptoms. IMC-1 has completed Phase 2 clinical trials for fibromyalgia and has received FDA Fast Track designation for this indication[1][5][6][8].
