Famitinib + docetaxel

Famitinib + docetaxel is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of advanced or metastatic cancers, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Famitinib is an oral small molecule multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets several receptor tyrosine kinases involved in tumor angiogenesis and growth. Docetaxel is a taxane-class chemotherapeutic agent that acts by stabilizing microtubules and inhibiting their depolymerization, thereby blocking mitosis and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. The combination has been studied as a second-line treatment in patients with NSCLC who are EGFR wild type. Clinical trials have shown that this regimen can be administered together with manageable toxicity, though phase 3 development for advanced NSCLC was terminated[2][4]. Famitinib was developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine; docetaxel was originally developed by Rhône-Poulenc Rorer (now part of Sanofi).
