Overview

FasL@rapamycin NPs are a research-stage nanoparticle-based drug delivery system that co-delivers Fas ligand (FasL) and rapamycin. This combinatorial nanoparticle platform is designed to achieve targeted modulation of immune responses by leveraging rapamycin's mTOR inhibition (immunosuppressive and anti-proliferative) properties alongside FasL-induced apoptosis signaling. The primary mechanism involves the targeted induction of immune tolerance or suppression, with potential applications in fields such as transplantation tolerance, autoimmunity, and vascularized graft acceptance. Nanoparticle encapsulation enhances delivery, prolongs bioavailability, and may enable tunable release and cell-type targeting.
