FB-631 + trivalent influenza vaccine

FB-631 (also known as the PAL adjuvant) is an investigational vaccine adjuvant developed by Folia Biotech, derived from the *Brucella abortus* Lumazine Synthase (BLS) protein. BLS is a highly stable, decameric protein scaffold that possesses intrinsic immunostimulatory properties, primarily acting as a Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist to enhance innate and adaptive immune responses. In the context of influenza, FB-631 is co-administered with the seasonal trivalent influenza vaccine (TIV) to improve the immunogenicity of the viral antigens. This combination aims to elicit stronger neutralizing antibody titers and T-cell responses, potentially providing better protection against seasonal flu, particularly in elderly or immunocompromised populations. A Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT04001140) has evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of this adjuvanted vaccine formulation in healthy adults.
