Overview

FD-001 is a therapeutic hepatitis B vaccine developed by Shanghai Zhongshan Hospital. It is designed for use as a component of a sequential "sandwich" combination therapy for patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection or those who have undergone surgery for HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The treatment protocol typically involves initial viral suppression with nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs), followed by the administration of the HBV monoclonal antibody HT-102 to clear circulating surface antigens (HBsAg). FD-001 is then administered to stimulate a robust host immune response, aiming to achieve HBsAg seroconversion (the disappearance of HBsAg and the appearance of HBsAb) and provide a functional cure or prevent HCC recurrence.
