Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**FDA approved steroid eye drop (masked)** refers to the active comparator arm used in Tarsier Pharma's Phase 3 TRS4VISION clinical trial (NCT04222712), which evaluated TRS01 (dazdotuftide) eye drops in patients with active non-infectious anterior uveitis, including those with uveitic glaucoma. To preserve blinding in the double-masked study design, the comparator is described only as a masked FDA-approved steroid eye drop. Based on published results and comparisons made in the trial literature, the active comparator is consistent with prednisolone acetate ophthalmic suspension (such as Pred Forte or Inflanefran Forte), a well-established, FDA-approved corticosteroid eye drop widely used as first-line treatment for anterior uveitis. Prednisolone acetate is a small molecule corticosteroid that acts by binding to glucocorticoid receptors, suppressing inflammatory mediators in ocular tissue.
