Overview

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimen combining FEC100 and paclitaxel used primarily for operable breast cancer. - FEC100 consists of fluorouracil 500 mg/m², epirubicin 100 mg/m², and cyclophosphamide 500 mg/m² administered every 21 days. - Paclitaxel is given weekly or every three weeks following completion of FEC100 cycles. - The combination leverages the anthracycline-based cytotoxicity of FEC with the microtubule-stabilizing action of paclitaxel to improve pathological complete response rates and overall survival in breast cancer patients. - This sequential administration is considered a standard neoadjuvant chemotherapy approach for locally advanced operable breast cancer with demonstrated efficacy and acceptable toxicity profiles.[1][4][6][8]
