fenofibrate + tibolone

Fenofibrate + tibolone is a combination of two small molecule drugs, each with distinct mechanisms and indications. Fenofibrate is a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) agonist used primarily to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, thereby reducing cardiovascular risk. Tibolone is a synthetic steroid hormone with estrogenic, progestogenic, and androgenic properties; it acts as an agonist at estrogen receptors and is used mainly for the treatment of menopausal symptoms and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. The combination has been studied for its effects on lipid profiles in postmenopausal women taking tibolone therapy; fenofibrate can increase plasma apoA-II concentration and redistribute HDL subfractions but does not fully correct tibolone-induced changes in HDL cholesterol or particle concentration[1][2]. This combination does not have a unique brand name or widespread clinical use as a fixed-dose product.
