Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ferritin-TR is a fixed-dose combination hematinic preparation containing ferrous sulfate and folic acid. It is formulated as a timed-release capsule to prevent the release of iron in the stomach, thereby reducing gastric side effects and ensuring maximum absorption in the intestine. Ferrous sulfate provides elemental iron, an essential component for hemoglobin synthesis and red blood cell production, while folic acid (vitamin B9) is required for nucleoprotein synthesis and normal erythropoiesis. Ferritin-TR is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia with concurrent folic acid deficiency, particularly during pregnancy and lactation.
