Overview

Feverfew extract + vitamin E is a topical antioxidant combination developed for enhanced photoprotection. It consists of a parthenolide-free extract of *Tanacetum parthenium* (feverfew) and alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E). This combination is specifically designed to mitigate oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation caused by boundary region wavelengths of light, including the longest ultraviolet A (LUVA, 380–400 nm) and high energy visible light (HEVL, 400–760 nm). These wavelengths are known to penetrate deeper into the skin and induce hyperpigmentation and premature aging, often bypassing standard UV filters. By neutralizing ROS, the combination provides broad-spectrum antioxidant protection, positioning it as a functional additive for sunscreens to prevent skin damage and pigmentary disorders.
