Overview

Fexofenadine + prednicarbate is a combination therapy used in the management of skin conditions associated with pruritus (itching) and inflammation, most notably atopic dermatitis. Fexofenadine is a second-generation, selective antihistamine that acts as an H1 receptor antagonist, effectively blocking the action of histamine and reducing allergic symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and urticaria. It is minimally sedating with little anticholinergic effect[2][3][5][8]. Prednicarbate is a non-halogenated, synthetic corticosteroid applied topically. It exerts local anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by suppressing the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and reversing capillary permeability[4][6]. The combination is used with oral fexofenadine (typically 180 mg daily) and topical prednicarbate to improve the relief of pruritus with an acceptable safety profile in patients with atopic dermatitis and related inflammatory skin diseases[1][9].
