Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ficlatuzumab + azacitidine + venetoclax is an investigational combination regimen being evaluated for the treatment of newly diagnosed, untreated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in patients aged 60 years or older who are unfit for intensive chemotherapy. The regimen combines ficlatuzumab, a first-in-class humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), with the standard-of-care backbone of azacitidine (a hypomethylating agent) and venetoclax (a BCL-2 inhibitor). By targeting HGF, ficlatuzumab inhibits the HGF/c-Met signaling pathway, which is implicated in leukemia cell survival, expansion, and resistance to therapy. The combination is being studied in a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial as a sub-study of Blood Cancer United's (formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) Beat AML Master Clinical Trial, in collaboration with AVEO Oncology.
