Filgrastim + stem cell factor is a combination of two recombinant protein drugs used to enhance the mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor (stem) cells into the peripheral blood, primarily for collection prior to autologous or allogeneic transplantation. Filgrastim is a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of neutrophil precursors and increases neutrophil counts. Stem cell factor (SCF), also known as c-kit ligand, acts synergistically with G-CSF to further increase the yield of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells in peripheral blood. The combination has been shown in clinical studies to significantly increase CD34+ cell yields and reduce the number of leukapheresis sessions required compared to filgrastim alone[1][3][5]. This regimen is mainly investigated in patients undergoing high-dose chemotherapy followed by autologous peripheral blood progenitor cell transplantation, such as those with multiple myeloma or high-risk breast cancer[1][3].
