Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DW6014 is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Dongwha Pharmaceutical for the management of patients suffering from both essential hypertension and primary hypercholesterolemia. The drug combines three established active pharmaceutical ingredients: fimasartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB) that promotes vasodilation; amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB) that reduces peripheral vascular resistance; and rosuvastatin, a statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase to lower LDL cholesterol levels. By consolidating these three mechanisms into a single oral tablet, DW6014 is designed to simplify complex medication regimens, thereby improving patient adherence and achieving better therapeutic outcomes in the co-management of cardiovascular risk factors. It is currently in late-stage clinical development in South Korea as part of Dongwha's 'Improved Drug' (Incremental Modified Drug) portfolio.
