Overview

This is a fixed-dose combination of three investigational agents used for the treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) with advanced fibrosis. **Firsocostat** is an acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) inhibitor that reduces hepatic fatty acid synthesis. **Cilofexor** is a selective, non-steroidal farnesoid X receptor (FXR) agonist, promoting regulation of bile acid metabolism and anti-fibrotic effects. **Icosapent ethyl** is a purified ethyl ester of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), an omega-3 fatty acid, used to reduce hypertriglyceridemia in patients with NASH and mitigate triglyceride elevations caused by firsocostat and cilofexor. The drug combination is being studied for its synergistic effects on improving liver histology, reducing hepatic steatosis, improving liver stiffness, and positively modulating lipid profiles in NASH patients with advanced fibrosis[1][2][5].
