Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FL058 placebo + meropenem is a combination therapy consisting of a placebo (designated as "FL058") and the antibiotic meropenem. Meropenem is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic used to treat various serious bacterial infections, including complicated skin and skin structure infections, intra-abdominal infections, and bacterial meningitis in both adults and children. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell death. The "placebo" component (FL058) serves as an inactive comparator or control in clinical studies; it has no pharmacological effect.
