Flecainide + metoprolol is a combination therapy used primarily for rhythm control in patients with atrial fibrillation and other supraventricular arrhythmias. Flecainide is a class 1C antiarrhythmic agent that works by blocking fast inward sodium channels during phase 0 of cardiac depolarization, prolonging the refractory period and stabilizing cardiac electrical activity. It also inhibits delayed rectifier potassium channels and ryanodine calcium channels, further affecting myocardial action potentials.
