A combination therapy consisting of flt-3-ligand (FL) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), both recombinant protein cytokines. This combination is used experimentally to synergistically mobilize hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and progenitor cells from the bone marrow into the peripheral blood. FL primarily stimulates proliferation of early hematopoietic progenitors by activating the Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 receptor (FLT3), while G-CSF promotes proliferation and differentiation of neutrophil precursors via the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor. When administered together, they significantly increase the number of circulating HSCs and facilitating cells compared to either agent alone, enhancing engraftment potential for transplantation settings[1][2][4]. The combination has been studied in preclinical models for its ability to improve peripheral blood stem cell mobilization and long-term multilineage hematopoietic reconstitution.
