Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flu H5 Egg Pandemic high dose vaccine, with adjuvant is an investigational monovalent influenza vaccine developed by Sanofi for pandemic preparedness. It utilizes an egg-based manufacturing process to produce antigens derived from the H5N8 strain of Influenza A. This specific formulation is a "high dose" version, containing a greater concentration of the hemagglutinin (HA) protein compared to standard doses, and is combined with Novavax's Matrix-M adjuvant. Matrix-M is a saponin-based adjuvant designed to enhance the magnitude and breadth of the immune response, potentially providing better protection against emerging pandemic strains. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
