Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FLU-Q-PAN H7N9 Formulation 1 + AS03A is an investigational pandemic influenza vaccine developed by GSK. It is a monovalent, inactivated, split-virion vaccine containing the hemagglutinin antigen from the A/Hong Kong/125/2017-like (H7N9) influenza virus. The formulation is adjuvanted with AS03A, a proprietary oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant system containing squalene, DL-α-tocopherol, and polysorbate 80. The AS03A adjuvant is designed to enhance the immune response, potentially allowing for dose-sparing of the viral antigen while increasing the breadth and durability of protection. This vaccine candidate is part of pandemic preparedness efforts against H7N9 avian influenza, which has been identified as a significant public health threat due to its potential for human-to-human transmission.
