Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FLU-Q-PAN H7N9 Formulation 3 + AS03B is a monovalent, inactivated, split-virion influenza vaccine candidate developed by GSK for pandemic preparedness. It targets the H7N9 subtype of Influenza A virus, specifically utilizing the A/Hong Kong/125/2017-like strain. The 'Formulation 3' designation refers to a specific antigen concentration (typically 15 µg of hemagglutinin) evaluated in clinical trials such as NCT03318315. The vaccine is formulated with the AS03B adjuvant system, which is a half-dose version of GSK's proprietary AS03 oil-in-water emulsion (containing squalene, alpha-tocopherol, and polysorbate 80). AS03 is designed to enhance the immune response, allowing for dose-sparing of the viral antigen during a pandemic by inducing higher titers of neutralizing antibodies and promoting a broader immune response.
