Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FLU-v + Montanide ISA-51 is a **combination vaccine** comprised of the FLU-v peptide vaccine formulated with the immunological adjuvant Montanide ISA-51. FLU-v consists of four synthetic peptides (FLU-5, FLU-7, FLU-8N, FLU-10) derived from highly conserved regions of influenza virus internal proteins (M1, NPA, NPB, and M2). The vaccine aims to induce a broad-spectrum, cell-mediated and humoral immune response that provides cross-protection against multiple influenza A and B strains[1][3][5]. Montanide ISA-51 is a water-in-oil emulsion adjuvant composed of light mineral oil and mannide monooleate, which creates an antigen depot effect and enhances immune responses (CD4+, CD8+ T cell and antibody amplification)[1][6][7]. The combination is studied primarily for preventative vaccination against influenza in healthy adults[3][5]. Administration is subcutaneous, and the formulation is provided as a lyophilized powder for reconstitution prior injection[1][5]. The developer is SEEK (now possibly PepTcell or Salvus), with Montanide ISA-51 produced by Seppic[7].
