Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of fluconazole, an azole antifungal agent, and a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Fluconazole inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis by targeting the cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α-demethylase, while cefazolin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins. This combination provides coverage against both fungal and bacterial infections.
