Overview

FluMos-v2 (VRC-FLUMOS0116-00-VP) is an experimental mosaic hexavalent influenza vaccine developed by the Vaccine Research Center (VRC) of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). It is designed to provide broad protection against multiple strains of influenza by displaying hemagglutinin (HA) proteins from six different influenza virus strains on a self-assembling nanoparticle scaffold. This mosaic approach aims to elicit a more diverse and potent immune response compared to traditional seasonal vaccines, potentially serving as a step toward a universal influenza vaccine. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
