**Fluocinolone acetonide + acetic acid** is a topical otic (ear) combination drug consisting of **fluocinolone acetonide**, a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid, and **acetic acid**, an antibacterial and acidifying agent. Fluocinolone acetonide acts as a potent anti-inflammatory and antipruritic agent by inducing phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins), which reduce the release of arachidonic acid, thereby decreasing synthesis of pro-inflammatory mediators (prostaglandins, leukotrienes). Acetic acid creates an acidic environment in the ear canal, inhibiting bacterial and fungal growth.
