Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination oral care formulation containing fluoride, xylitol, calcium, and phosphate. These agents are commonly used together in lozenges, varnishes, or dentifrices to prevent dental caries and promote remineralization of tooth enamel. Fluoride enhances the resistance of enamel to acid dissolution and facilitates the incorporation of calcium and phosphate ions into the tooth structure to form fluorapatite or fluorhydroxyapatite, which are more resistant to decay. Xylitol acts as a non-cariogenic sweetener that inhibits acid-producing bacteria in dental plaque. Calcium and phosphate provide essential minerals for remineralization processes. The combination is particularly beneficial for individuals at high risk for caries or with reduced salivary flow[1][2][5].
