A combination therapy consisting of a 5% sodium fluoride (NaF) varnish and Casein Phospho-Peptide Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (CPP-ACP) paste. This combination is being investigated by the Azad University of Medical Sciences for the management of oral and salivary complications in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, specifically targeting oral mucositis, xerostomia (dry mouth), and oral infections. Fluoride varnish provides a concentrated source of fluoride to promote dental remineralization and reduce tooth sensitivity, while CPP-ACP acts as a reservoir of bioavailable calcium and phosphate to promote enamel remineralization and buffer oral acidity. Together, they aim to maintain oral health and alleviate symptoms associated with chemotherapy-induced hyposalivation.
