Drug intelligence / Profile preview
F18 PSMA-1007 (fluorine (18F) psma-1007) is a fluorine-18 labeled, small-molecule radiopharmaceutical that targets prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). It was originated by the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and developed by Advanced Biochemical Compounds (ABX) and other partners. It is used as a diagnostic imaging agent for positron emission tomography (PET) in patients with prostate cancer, specifically for primary staging of high-risk prostate cancer and restaging in biochemical recurrence. Unlike some other PSMA-targeting tracers (such as Ga-68 PSMA-11), F18 PSMA-1007 is primarily excreted via the hepatobiliary system rather than the urinary tract, which reduces background activity in the bladder and improves the visualization of pelvic lesions.
