This combination has been studied primarily for advanced or metastatic gastrointestinal cancers such as colorectal cancer. The regimen leverages multiple mechanisms of action to maximize cytotoxicity against tumor cells. While combinations like 5-FU/folinic acid/mitomycin are established in clinical studies[1][2][3], the addition of vincristine is less common but has precedent in regimens for gastrointestinal malignancies[9]. Each component targets different aspects of cancer cell proliferation and survival.
