Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of fluoxetine hydrochloride, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant, and Cang Ai Volatile Oil (CAVO), an aromatherapy product. Fluoxetine acts by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain, thereby increasing its availability and improving mood in depressive disorders. CAVO is used as an aromatherapy patch for inhalation; its mechanism is not fully established but it is being investigated for potential synergistic effects with fluoxetine in treating mild to moderate depression[1]. This combination does not correspond to any approved fixed-dose pharmaceutical product but has been studied as a regimen in clinical trials.
