Overview

This is a fixed-dose combination therapy consisting of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: - **Flupentixol**: A typical antipsychotic of the thioxanthene class, primarily acting as a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. It also has some antagonistic activity at serotonin 5-HT2 receptors. Flupentixol is used in low doses for its antidepressant and anxiolytic effects, especially when combined with melitracen[6][5]. - **Melitracen**: A tricyclic antidepressant that inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin (5-HT), thereby increasing their levels in the synaptic cleft and improving mood and anxiety symptoms[4][5]. - **Omeprazole**: A proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells. The combination is used to treat patients with gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, or erosive gastritis who also present with comorbid anxiety or depressive symptoms. Clinical studies have shown that this combination improves both gastrointestinal symptoms and psychological distress more effectively than monotherapy with a PPI alone[1][2][3]. The regimen is generally well tolerated.
