Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fluticasone furoate + levocabastine is a **fixed-dose combination** intranasal spray containing fluticasone furoate, a synthetic corticosteroid with potent local anti-inflammatory effects, and levocabastine, a highly selective second-generation **H1 receptor antagonist (antihistamine)**. This combination is intended primarily for the treatment of **allergic rhinitis** and possibly other allergic nasal/ocular symptoms. Fluticasone furoate acts by binding to glucocorticoid receptors on various inflammatory cells, inhibiting cytokine production and reducing local inflammation, edema, and mucus secretion. Levocabastine blocks the actions of histamine at the H1 receptor, preventing and relieving rapid-onset allergy symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, and rhinorrhea.
