Drug intelligence / Profile preview
flutoltropoate (18F) (formerly known as [18F]GEH300022 or [18F]LBT-999) is a fluorine-18 labeled phenyltropane derivative that acts as a highly selective and high-affinity PET radiotracer targeting the dopamine transporter (DAT). Developed by GE HealthCare following its acquisition of Zionexa, flutoltropoate (18F) is designed for the non-invasive visualization and quantification of presynaptic dopaminergic innervation in the brain. It is primarily in Phase III clinical development as a diagnostic imaging agent to differentiate Parkinsonian disorders (such as Parkinson's disease) from essential tremor. It offers a faster imaging protocol and higher spatial resolution compared to traditional SPECT imaging agents like [123I]ioflupane (DaTSCAN).
