Overview

fluzoparib + tislelizumab is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of advanced squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Fluzoparib is a potent small molecule inhibitor of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase enzymes 1 and 2 (PARP1/2), developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine. It works by blocking DNA repair pathways, leading to genomic instability and cell death in cancer cells, particularly those with homologous recombination deficiencies. Tislelizumab, developed by BeiGene, is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody directed against the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. By inhibiting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, tislelizumab restores the ability of T cells to recognize and attack tumor cells. This combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial led by Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital as a maintenance therapy for patients with advanced squamous NSCLC who have achieved disease control following induction chemo-immunotherapy.
