FOLFIRI + KH903 is a combination therapy consisting of the established chemotherapy regimen FOLFIRI (folinic acid [leucovorin], fluorouracil [5-FU], and irinotecan) plus the recombinant fusion protein KH903 (also known as conbercept). - **FOLFIRI** is used primarily for metastatic colorectal cancer and includes: - Folinic acid (leucovorin): enhances the effectiveness of 5-FU. - Fluorouracil (5-FU): a pyrimidine analog antimetabolite that disrupts DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. - Irinotecan: a topoisomerase I inhibitor that prevents DNA replication in cancer cells[1][2][3][4][5]. - **KH903 (conbercept)** is a recombinant fusion protein acting as a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor decoy. It binds VEGF-A, VEGF-B, and placental growth factor to inhibit angiogenesis. This mechanism blocks new blood vessel formation required for tumor growth. The combination aims to enhance anti-tumor efficacy by pairing cytotoxic chemotherapy with targeted anti-angiogenic therapy.
