Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Follistim + Ganirelix is a combination regimen used in assisted reproductive technology (ART), particularly in in vitro fertilization (IVF) protocols. Follistim contains follitropin beta, a recombinant form of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which stimulates the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles to increase the number of eggs available for retrieval. Ganirelix is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist that prevents premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surges and ovulation during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. The combination allows for optimal follicular development while precisely controlling ovulation timing to maximize egg retrieval success[2][6][8][9].
