Overview
Follitropin delta (FE 999049) is a novel recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (rFSH) developed by Ferring Pharmaceuticals and marketed under the brand name REKOVELLE. It is used for controlled ovarian stimulation to develop multiple follicles in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Dosing is individualized based on body weight and serum anti-Müllerian hormone levels[5]. Cetrorelix is a synthetic decapeptide gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist that inhibits premature luteinizing hormone surges during ovarian stimulation. It acts by competitively binding to GnRH receptors on pituitary cells, suppressing LH and FSH release[2][6][8]. The combination of follitropin delta with cetrorelix is used in ART protocols to optimize follicular development while preventing premature ovulation.
