Fostroxacitabine bralpamide (fostrox) is an orally administered anti-tumor small molecule designed to target the liver while minimizing effects on the rest of the body. It is being developed for primary liver cancer and potentially other liver-related malignancies[3]. Pembrolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By blocking PD-1, pembrolizumab enhances T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells, allowing the immune system to better recognize and destroy cancer cells[1][4][6]. The combination of fostroxacitabine bralpamide with pembrolizumab is under investigation for synergistic anti-tumor activity in hepatocellular carcinoma and possibly other cancers involving the liver.
