Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Freamine HBC + Trophamine is a parenteral nutrition combination therapy consisting of two specialized amino acid solutions. Freamine HBC (High Branched Chain) is a 6.9% amino acid injection enriched with branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), specifically leucine, isoleucine, and valine, designed to provide nutritional support for patients in highly stressful metabolic states, such as trauma or sepsis, where protein catabolism is significantly increased. Trophamine is a specialized amino acid injection (available in 6% or 10% concentrations) formulated for pediatric and neonatal use to mimic the amino acid profile of human milk, but it is also utilized in specific adult clinical settings to achieve a balanced nitrogen profile. Together, this combination provides a comprehensive profile of essential and non-essential amino acids to maintain nitrogen balance, support tissue repair, and minimize muscle wasting in critically ill patients who cannot receive adequate enteral nutrition.
