Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GDK Bio's freeze-dried human rabies vaccine (Vero cell-derived) is an inactivated viral vaccine developed for the prevention of rabies infection in humans. The vaccine is produced by cultivating the rabies virus in Vero cells, followed by purification, inactivation, and lyophilization (freeze-drying) to enhance product stability and shelf life. It is intended for both pre-exposure prophylaxis and post-exposure treatment. The vaccine works by inducing the host's immune system to produce specific neutralizing antibodies against the rabies virus. As of January 2021, the candidate had completed Phase 3 clinical trials in China.
