Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Freeze-dried Rabies Vaccine (MRC-5 Cell) is an inactivated viral vaccine developed by the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the prevention of rabies. Produced using the MRC-5 human diploid cell line, this vaccine is designed to elicit a protective immune response through the production of virus-neutralizing antibodies. It is typically evaluated using the Essen 5-dose intramuscular vaccination schedule (administered on days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28). As a human diploid cell vaccine (HDCV), it aims to offer a high safety profile and high immunogenicity compared to older nerve tissue-derived vaccines or Vero cell-derived vaccines.
