Overview

Fructooligosaccharide + Lactobacillus crispatus 197 + Lactobacillus gasseri CCFM1201 is a synbiotic combination product designed to support women's vaginal health. It combines a prebiotic (fructooligosaccharide) with two strains of probiotic bacteria. Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are non-digestible fibers that act as a food source for beneficial bacteria, promoting their growth and activity. *Lactobacillus crispatus* is a key species for a healthy vaginal microbiome, known to produce lactic acid which helps maintain an acidic environment (pH < 4.5) that is inhospitable to pathogens. [10, 14] The specific strain *Lactobacillus gasseri* CCFM1201 has been studied for its ability to inhibit *Gardnerella vaginalis*, the primary pathogen associated with bacterial vaginosis (BV). [13] In preclinical models, *L. gasseri* CCFM1201 has been shown to inhibit biofilm formation, modulate local immune responses by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines, and help restore the structure of vaginal tissue. [1, 12, 13] This combination aims to restore and maintain a healthy vaginal flora, thereby preventing and managing vaginal dysbiosis such as bacterial vaginosis.
