Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fufang E'jiao Jiang is a patented Chinese herbal compound preparation widely used in China to replenish qi and nourish blood. It is approved by the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) for the treatment of conditions associated with qi and blood deficiency syndrome, such as dizziness, palpitations, insomnia, poor appetite, leukopenia, and anemia. The formulation contains five main ingredients: Asini Corii Colla (Ejiao), red ginseng (Radix Ginseng Rubra), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Rehmannia), Radix Codonopsis pilosula (Codonopsis), and hawthorn (Fructus Crataegi). Ejiao serves as the primary active ingredient. Modern pharmacological studies indicate that FEJ promotes hematopoietic function by increasing red blood cell count, hemoglobin levels, serum iron content; it also improves bone marrow suppression caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Additionally, it enhances immune function by boosting white blood cell counts and macrophage activity while reducing fatigue. Clinical applications include various types of anemia—such as postpartum anemia or tumor-related anemia—bone marrow suppression after cancer therapy, gynecological disorders like ovulatory dysfunction infertility or premature ovarian failure, and supportive care in veterinary medicine[1][3][4][5][6][7].
