Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuling (Poria cocos) and Chenpi (Citrus reticulata peel) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal combination used to harmonize the middle jiao, strengthen the spleen, and resolve dampness and phlegm. Fuling is a medicinal fungus known for its diuretic and sedative properties, containing bioactive triterpenes and polysaccharides. Chenpi is dried tangerine peel rich in flavonoids like hesperidin, which promotes gastrointestinal motility and aids in respiratory health by drying dampness and transforming phlegm. Together, they are foundational components of many TCM formulas, such as Er Chen Tang, and are investigated for their potential roles in treating metabolic disorders, chronic bronchitis, and functional dyspepsia.
